Dear Parents,
Happy New Year to you all!
Christmas Activities
A huge thank you to all children, staff and parents for making the end of term Christmas activities so enjoyable and festive. Both the Infant and Junior Christmas Productions were delightful and a great way to end the term. Apologies to the audience who ended up queuing for so long in the cold and dark on the evening of the Key Stage 2 production. Thank you for your patience, next year we will attempt to remedy the situation!
Congratulations
Congratulations to Rosie in class 6 for coming second in Norman Baker’s, the local Member of Parliament, Christmas Card and Poetry Competition. As part of the prize Rosie will be given a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. Well done Rosie!

Medical Matters
If your child needs to take any medicine during school time i.e. asthma inhaler, antibiotics, paracetamol etc please ensure you come into the school office and complete a medical consent form and hand the medicine to the office staff.
If your child has been suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea it is recommended by the Health Protection Agency to keep your child away from school for 48 hours from the last episode. They also recommend an exclusion from swimming for 2 weeks following the last episode of diarrhoea. If you want further clarification or information please call into the school office.
Glyndebourne Big Up Project
Over the next year the whole school will be taking part in a national singing project. The aim of the project is to help us to develop our singing skills, both staff and children. Every Monday a music specialist will be supporting the class teacher in a half hour music lesson as well as leading a number of staff meetings over the next term. By the end of the project we hope to put together a concert to entertain parents.
School Closures
If for any reason the school needs to be closed, for example due to bad weather, it will be reported on Southern FM radio and their website.
Yours sincerely,
Jackie Warren
